Golf

Hey! So you want to take up golf. It’s a great pass time. It can be fun or it can be hell! First let me say, I’ve finally figured out why so many guys drink their way around the course, it’s so they don’t want to see how crappy their game really is!The first thing for you to do is figure out if you want to play well or this is just going to be an excuse to get out of the house. If you want to be somewhat serious then you should consider taking lessons from a golf professional, not your buddy.I make that statement assuming your buddy is not a 1 or 2 handicap or better. After all, wouldn’t it be fun to win a few bucks off him? If you’re more serious than not, you may want to see about being fitted for a set of clubs. By building clubs to suit your swing and strength, you can achieve a better game than placing most of your money into a name brand driver. I bought a set of clubs this way and all the shafts match in flex. The grips are slightly oversize, which suits me. The best part is, I play well with them because I’m comfortable with the feel and they cost only a little more than 1 big name driver! If you decide to forgo the lessons until you see if you really like the whole idea, then here is a tip. Most of the time when you go to the driving range, you’ll see these people come up and immediately grab the driver and start flailing away with that. A couple of years ago I got to see the pros in action. On the practice range every one without exception, started to practice with a wedge! The reason, I was told was that this allows their muscles to warm up as they can useless force with this than a four iron. They work their way up to the driver and by that time all their muscles are loosened up. Now I do this and it works. The other thing to think about is a warm-up routine before your round. Tom Watson has a routine that takes 15 – 20 minutes. At the end of it he is ready to go. You can bet Tiger Woods puts in a lot of time practicing. Go to his website and watch the videos. See how many are of putts and short irons. Not many tee shots.Don’t be afraid to spend time on the practice range. It can pay off huge in your enjoyment of the game.To enhance your game tenfold read this ebook for world class golf fitness information, click here.
